pbm is a playback speed controller for video and audio on the web, available as a Safari extension for iOS, iPadOS and macOS, and as a Chrome extension.
Nothing. pbm does not collect, transmit, sell or share any personal data. There are no accounts, no analytics, no advertising, no tracking, and no third-party services of any kind.
pbm makes no network requests. The extension has no host permissions beyond the pages it runs on to control playback, and it contacts no server — not ours, not anyone's. It continues to work with no internet connection at all.
pbm saves only what it needs to behave the way you configured it:
All of it is held in the browser's own extension storage on your device. In Safari this data stays on that device. In Chrome, settings may sync through your Chrome profile if you have Chrome sync enabled; that is handled by Chrome, not by pbm, and per-site speeds are never synced. None of this data is ever sent to us, because pbm has nowhere to send it.
Uninstalling pbm removes everything it stored. You can also clear the remembered speed for the current site from the extension's popup.
pbm collects no data from anyone, including children.
